Overview
Read this document to learn how to get started with Mattermost.
Getting an Account on P1
Prior to gaining access to Mattermost, All users must self-register for a P1 account here.
It is highly advised to use your CAC card when creating this account, as it will be easier to access for CAC users.
Mattermost Account Request
An OS for your team must submit a Mattermost License Request to onboard new users to Mattermost at each desired IL.
Include the user's email that they created the P1 account with, as well as select the IL where the Mattermost account will need to be provisioned.
Accessing Mattermost for the First Time
Mattermost can be accessed either by the webpage where it is hosted or by using the official Mattermost app. The mobile app can be downloaded from either the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store for Android devices.
To access Mattermost via your internet browser, use the corresponding URL of the IL where your account lives.
Joining Teams
Join the Welcome Team when prompted which Team to join. Afterward, you can either be added to your official Team by a team admin or you may be provided an invite URL.
Helpful Tips
Mattermost top-level groupings are called Teams. Teams have Channels. You must be on a Team prior to being added to any of that Team's channels.
